NSO has learned that Cloquet attorney Dennis Korman has been hired to coach the Carlton High School football team this fall. The job became vacant when former coach, Scott Battaglia, took a job in Willow River earlier this summer. Korman confirmed his hiring on Wednesday night.

Korman, who played college football at St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota, has been a long time volunteer in local coaching circles in everything from softball to football.

The Carlton School District has been facing a serious budget situation and found themselves without a coach as fall practices were looming on the horizon. Korman threw his hat into the coaching ring when he found out that the team needed someone to coach them or face starting the season late.

NSO will have a complete story in the near future.
