Many people wonder what a college President does during his spare time. Does he fish, hunt, play golf, do odds and ends around the house or something else? In the case of Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College President Larry Anderson that something else is different than just about any college President you’ll ever find. Anderson, who is 59 years old, is one of the top power lifters at his age group in the county.

Saturday Anderson took first place in the Master’s 198-poun division of the World Association of Benchers and Dead Lifters Midwest Regional Competition at a meet in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.

One fortunate aspect of being the college president is that Anderson has a weight room not more than a couple minutes walk from his office. Anderson can be found a few times a week in the weight room tossing around weights and working on his technique. That worked allowed Anderson to bench press more than 400 pounds in the 54-60 age group to win his division and send the former AlBrook High School football coach to the World Association of Benchers and Dead Lifters World Competition in Las Vegas, Nevada in November.

It is not the first time that Anderson has done well in national events, of which he has won numerous titles in the past.
