The Carlton Bulldogs were looking to make it three wins in a row on Friday afternoon but the Ely Timberwolves had a different idea.
Ely beat the Bulldogs by a score of 14-3 at Chub Lake in Carlton.

The Bulldogs, who have been playing good ball lately, came out and “fell behind early,” head coach Scott Battaglia
told Northland Sports Online. “We didn’t have a good start today, we didn’t find the strike zone and it cost us,” Battaglia mentioned. “We also had many chances to get back into the game but we never could capitalize.”

The Bulldogs spotted the Timberwolves an 8-0 lead in the top of the first and never could make their way back into the game. Twice the Bulldogs would have bases loaded with one out or less and they failed to get a run across.

Zack Anderson had a couple hits in the Bulldogs’ loss.
He also
drove in a pair of runs. The Bulldogs left a total of twelve runners on base, nine of those twelve in scoring position.

The Bulldogs fall to 6-5 on the season and will play Hill City on Saturday in Hill City. The Timberwolves improve their record to 6-1 on the season and will play at home Monday against the Chisholm Bluestreaks.
