Ogichida down Lions in girls Playoff Basketball

The Fond du Lac Ogichida opened the girl’s section 7A playoffs with a 67-52 victory Tuesday night at Fond du Lac High School over Lakeview Christian Academy.

The Ogichida opened a nine point lead at halftime at 29-20, and extended the lead in the second half as the Ogichida went on to the fifteen point victory.

Drewez Budreau led all scorers for FDL with 24 points, Dez LaPointe added 17, Faryn Dupis added 14, and it was Kasey Shabaiash and Kaila Dufault both pitching in with 6 points.

The Lions were led by Eva Reinertson who scored 27 points, Laura Bonin added 12, Lydia Swanson added 6, and it was Shelby Johnson and Kelly Lorenz each ended with 2 points.

The Ogichida improve to 12-5 overall and they will face Cromwell Thursday night at Esko in the second round of the section 7A playoffs. The Lions season comes to an end with an overall record of 7-15.
