Hermantown Topples Princeton

The No. 3 seeded Hermantown Hawks matched up with the No. 6 seeded Princeton Tigers in Hermantown on Friday evening. The night would see the Hawks fly away with the 87-68 victory to move onto the semifinals.

The Hawks held the narrow 36-32 lead at halftime but would soar away with the game in the second half, outscoring the Tigers 51-36 to secure their spot in the next round.

The Tigers were lead by Caleb Scharber in the loss as he tallied 30 points on the night. Jack Sinkel also had a nice 19 point effort for Princeton.

Kole Zuidmulder lead the Hawks to victory with a game high 36 points. Cade Zacharias also put in a nice effort in the win with 16 points. Also getting into the box score for Hermantown was Thomas Madison with 11, Zach Brendon tallying 8, Justin Brendon notching 7, Alex Vittorio pitching in 4, Xavier Gow scoring 3, and Zach Zierden topping it off with 2.

Princeton ends their season with a 9-17 record. The Hermantown Hawks advance to the Section 7AAA semifinals where they will play the No. 2 seeded Grand Rapids Thunderhawks (16-9) who they split the regular season series with. They will square off on March 4th in Hibbing with a 7:45 tip off.
