McGovern named to All-Tournament Team

Sophomore forward for the Proctor-Hermantown Mirage Sophie McGovern was named to the 2014 Wells Fargo all-tournament team in Class A at the girls state hockey tournament on Saturday afternoon.

McGovern finished with three goals in the state tournament including two goals in the consolation championship game Saturday where the Mirage defeated Alexandria.

McGovern who entered the tournament with 31 goals and 24 assists finishes the season with 34 goals, 24 assists for a total of 58 points on the season, second to Reilly Fawcett.

Members of the 2014 All-Tournament team are Alexa Mack, Haley Mack, Karly Nelson Mak Langei, and Madi Galstad from East Grand Forks, Sylvie Wallin, Lilia Everson, and Carly Bullock of Blake. Emily Stegora & Nicole Schammel of Red Wing and Catherine Johnson of St. Paul United.

Northland Sports Online would like to congratulate Sophie on this accomplishment and as a sophomore the Mirage will be and McGovern will look to improve on this season’s consolation title.
