The Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers were looking to advance to their 3rd consecutive Section 7A finals on Saturday afternoon, but the Virginia/MIB Blue Devils had other thoughts as they would give the Hilltoppers a run for their money. The Hilltoppers would escape narrowly however, winning 2-1 to advance to the Section Finals.

Duluth Marshall would get on the scoreboard first when Nate Sepp hit the back of the net on an assist from Jack Dodd to give the Hilltoppers the early 1-0 lead.  The Blue Devils would battle back and tie the game up 1-1 just 1 minute into the second period when Travis Kemp and Colton Anderson assisted Louie Judnick on the goal. Duluth Marshall would score just 7 minutes later. Joe Daly and Lane Eliason assisted  Lane Krenzen on the game winner to give the Hilltoppers the 2-1 victory and secure their spot in the Section 7A finals.

Virginia/MIB goalie, Lucas Murray stopped 23 shots on the evening, while Duluth Marshalls Alex Murray stopped 28 in the win.

Virginia/MIB end their season with a 18-8-1 record. The Hilltoppers improve to 18-9 on the year and will play a tough Hermantown Hawks (21-4-2) squad in the Section 7A finals on February 26th. The puck drops at 7:30 PM at Amsoil Arena.
