CEC Tennis Topples Denfeld 6-1

The Cloquet-Esko-Carlton boys tennis team opened play in the subsection tournament by beating Duluth Denfeld on the road 6-1.

CEC took all three doubles matches and three-of-four in singles competition to surprise the Hunters.

At #1 singles Dylan Burslie downed Brendan Johnson 6-1, 6-0 and at #2 singles it was Sean Kedrowski of CEC beating Jeremy O’Conner by the same score. Zach Zezulka of CEC dropped his #3 singles match to Kyle Stupca, but John Scheuer helped the Jacks rebound with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Brody LeDoux.

The CEC #1 doubles team of Chase Pritchett and Jake Sorenson scored a 6-1, 7-6 win over Chad Bolen and Aaron Stinson. At #2 doubles the Jacks notched a 4-6, 6-4, 10-6 win with Jon Hammitt and Ryan Kedrowski beating the Hunters Jordan Rock and Cory Bolen. CEC stayed on a huge roll at #3 doubles when Luke Heine and Ryan Lind downed Tanner Jadzewski and Matt Skurich 6-2, 6-3.
