The Lake Superior Conference recently named the 2009-2010 all-conference selections for this academic year. Hermantown paced the selections with six events in the girls and five events for the boys. Cloquet had members named in five girls events and Proctor had three named in boys events.

Hermantown’s girls individual running all conference selections were Niila Witikko
in the 800 meter run and Leah Holmes in the 1600 meter run. Hawks’ Melissa Madison, Jenna Wassenaar, Alex Zierden, and Lyla Abukhodair were all part of the conference 4×400 meter relay team. Hermantown’s final member of the all conference team was Chelsea Karlon, who qualified in both the shot put and discus.

Cloquet’s representatives included Amy Campbell, who qualified in the 100 and 300 meter hurdles. Campbell was also part of the 4×800 meter relay with Katie Pappas, Emily Johnson, and Hailee Peterson. Cloquet’s Nikki Roach was named in the 1600 meter run, while Peterson was named in the 3200 meter run.

Proctor had two girls selected as all-conference members, Micayla Westendorf in the 100 meter hurdles and Rachel Rossiter in the pole vault. The Rails also had three boys named to the all-conference team.
Chris Carlson was named in the 200 & 400 meter dashes,
Anders Voss in the pole vault, and Shawn Wiita in the pole vault.

Hermantown had boys named in seven events: Connor Hady in the 110 meter hurdles, Braxton Ball in the 330 meter hurdles, Jake Lesar in the shot put, and Corey Anderson in the high jump. The Hawks also had all-conference honors in the 4×100, the 4×400, and the 4×800-meter relays. Members of those teams were Jake Royer, Marc Niemi, and Chris Phillips in the 4×100, Braxton Ball, Tim Grover, and Jeff Cottrell in the 4×400 meter relay, and Eric Rupert, Tim Grover, Joe Muelbauer, and Jeff Cottrell in the 4×800 meter relay.
