Brensdorf hits 1000 point in Floodwood Victory

Riley Brensdorf hit the 1000 point mark Thursday night as the Floodwood Polar Bears topped the Northland Eagles by a score of 88-65 at Floodwood High school in a sectional battle.

Brensdorf helped the Polar Bears to a fast start Thursday as he and team mate Willow Christenson each scored big in the first half to help the Polar Bears open up a halftime lead of 53-44.

The Polar Bears continued rolling in the second half as they outscored the Eagles 35-21 and went on to win by thirty-three points. Brensdorf a junior guard for the Polar Bears scored a game high 28 points including four 3-pointers in the Floodwood win.

Christenson followed Brensdorf with 23 points, Kyle Tamminen and Noah Thompson each added 12 points, Ryder Lough and Damien Autio each chipped in with 5 points and it was Anthony Chiles with 3.

Gary Gross led the Eagles with 20 points Thursday night, Easton Wake added 15 points, and Zak Nornberg added 13 points in the loss. The Eagles also connected on eight 3-pointers on the night.

The Polar Bears improve to 13-6 on the season and they will be back in action on Friday night when they will face the Cromwell cardinals in a conference match-up at Floodwood High school.

The Eagles fall to 5-12 on the season and they will be back in action on Friday as well, when they will host Bigfork in a section match-up at Northland High School in Remer.
