Karkkainen Becomes Sixth Recruit to Ink with Women’s Soccer

Culver-Stockton College women’s soccer coachTyler Tomlinson has announced that Kadee Karkkainen has signed a letter of intent to attend school and play for the Wildcats, beginning with the 2014-15 school year.

Karkkainen, a midfielder from Esko HS, was a four-year Varsity Player for the Eskomos.  During the 2013 campaign, Karkkainen netted nine goals and dished out 14 assists to earn the Eskomos’ Offensive Player of the Year Award, and was selected to the St. Luke’s Duluth Area All-Stars.  She has also played 5 season’s with the Gitchi Gummi Soccer Club under Coach Kelly Grgas-Wheeler ending last season with a berth in the MYSA State Tournament.

“The first thing that drew us to Kadee was her work ethnic and her personality,” said Tomlinson. “Her work rate is very high and I truly believe it is contagious. Her ability to attack or defend makes her a versatile player that we look for in a player.”

Culver-Stockton, located in Canton, Mo., is affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and is a member of the 10-team Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) featuring colleges and universities in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska.
