CEC Edges Hibbing-Chisholm

The Cloquet/Esko/Carlton Lumberjacks took down the Hibbing-Chisholm Bluejackets on Thursday night, winning 2-1.

Taylor Nelson got the Lumberjacks on the board, scoring off a pass from Kiana Bender at the 6 minute mark to put the Lumberjacks up 1-0.

Hibbing-Chisholm’s Katie Carpenter would answer that goal late in the 2nd period, scoring on a power play to tie it at 1-1.

Rose Lundquist would score the game winner for the Lumberjacks just 28 seconds into the 3rd period, giving the Lumberjacks the 2-1 lead and victory.

Abby Edstrom stopped 25 shots in the loss for the Bluejackets, while Erin Genereau stopped 26 in the win for CEC.

CEC improves to 2-3 on the year and will be back in action on December 10th when they host Benilde-St. Margaret’s. Hibbing-Chisolm falls to 5-3 on the year.
