Greyhound Girls Make it 28 Straight

Duluth East made it 28 consecutive victories over cross town rival Duluth Denfeld with a ten point 58-48 win Friday night at Denfeld High School.

The Greyhounds held a slight 27-24 lead at the half, but went on to outscore the Hunters 31-24 en route to their 10 points victory.

Maggie Leider led the balanced attack for the Greyhounds, scoring 18 points. Following Leider was Eric Teichroew with 8, Ashley Williams, Annie Reichhoff, and Miia Marple all with 6, Jada Olson and Kelsi Hanson with 5 each, and Libby Johnson and Adara Zwak each tallying 2 points.

In the loss for the Hunters, Eva Reinertsen had a game high 20 points. Ashley Taipale also hit double digits in the loss, with 12 points. Rounding out the scoring for the Hunters was Jordyn Nelson with 8 points, Holly Ostazeski with 5, Gabby Nordman with 2, and Haley Larson with 1.

The Greyhounds moved to 1-5 on the year and will look to build off this victory when they play Bloomington Jefferson on December 12th. The Hunters drop to 1-2 on the year and will look to bounce back against Superior on the road on December 15th.
