Northland Sports State Football Preview

Its one of the most important weeks in high school football. The week that can keep your dreams of winning a state championship or the week that can end your football season and possibly your prep football career. The Northland will look to defy those odds as they have strong representatives in Sections 7AAAA, 7AAA, 7AA, and Section 5 9-man.

In Class AAAA, the unbeaten Hermantown Hawks (10-0) will take on a tough Rocori Spartan (8-3) team from Section 8AAAA. They will square off at the Brainerd high school with kickoff coming at 7pm. It will be broadcasted on the radio, on WKLK-FM 96.5.

In Class AAA, the Proctor Rails (7-3) will travel to the Brainerd high school to take on the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Rebels, who hold a 9-1 record. They will kick off at 3:00pm on October 31st.

In Class AA, the Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels (8-3), who are making their 10th consecutive appearance at state, will have to take on a tough United North Central Warriors team, who are 8-2 heading into this matchup. They will also play at Brainerd high school, kicking off at 12pm.

In the 9-man tournament, the 10-1 Silver Bay Mariners drew the Waubun Bombers, who are a perfect 10-0 on the year. They will play in Bemidji on October 31st with a kickoff of 1pm.
