Cloquet Falls To St. Cloud Apollo

The Cloquet Lumberjacks and St. Cloud Apollo Eagles matched up in the Martin Luther King Classic on Monday at UMD. The Eagles would soar over the Lumberjacks, snagging the 64-40 victory.

At the half, the Lumberjacks we only down by 8 being outscored 27-19 but in the second half the Eagles flew away with the victory, outscoring Cloquet 37-21 in the second half to secure the victory.

Leading in scoring for the Lumberjacks was Adam Laine with 14 points. Dillon Johnson was next in the box score with 9, followed by Jake Bushey who scored 4, Zach Gerlach added 4, Nate Weets tallied 3, Isaac Gilchrist scored 2, and Rand Bieri ended the scoring with 1 point.

The Eagles were lead in scoring by Ethan Novacinski and Jeremy Koffi who each scored 17 points in the victory.

With the loss the Lumberjack fall to 12-3 on the season and will travel to battle another Lumberjack squad as they play Bemidji (2-13) on January 24th. The St. Cloud Apollo Eagles improved to 11-6 on the year.
