Spartans Topple Hunters

Jessica Lindstrom scored 23 points Tuesday night as the Spartans of Superior toppled the Denfeld Hunters 67-29 in a girls basketball Lake Superior Conference Match-up at Denfeld High School.

The Spartans started fast Tuesday night as they built up a 19 point first half lead at 38-19. The Spartans continued to roll in the second half outscoring the Hunters 29-10 as they went on to the 3 point win.

Following Lindstrom in scoring was Alyssa Correll who pitched in with 19 points, Hailey Konty added 13, while Tailor Schuster and McKenzie Kmerick each had 4 points in the Spartan win.

The Hunters were led by Ashely Taipale who finished with 14 points including 9 of those points coming off of three pointers. Lexi Hill added 5 points and Tyler Ballavance had 4 for Denfeld.

The Hunters fall to 1-3 on the season and they will host the Grand Rapids Thunderhawks on Thursday night.  The Spartans move to 2-0 overall on the season and they will face the Rails in Proctor Thursday night.
