Lady Jacks Fall to Roseville

The Cloquet-Esko-Carlton lady Lumberjacks playing their third non conference match-up in eight days saw Roseville jump out to an early 4-1 lead and went on to a 5-2 victory.

Kendra Williams put the Raiders on the scoreboard first as she scored at the 4:09 mark of the first period on assists from Erika Bjorkland and Kathy Larson.  The Lumberjacks tied the game a little over four minutes later when defenseman Jade Alvillar scored an unassisted goal at the 8:28 mark.

Roseville made it 2-1 at 11:04 of the first period when Bjorkland scored on an assist from Larson. Maddison Gaffney made it 3-1 in favor of Roseville as she scored 50 seconds later to make it 3-1. The Raiders we not quite done in the first as Claire Krelitz scored a short handed goal on an assist from Taylor Henthorne.

Following a scoreless second period the Raiders made it 5-1 went Henthorne scored at 3:05 with the assists coming form Krelitz and Maddie Schlossmacher. The Lumberjacks cut the Roseville lead to 5-2 when Ashley Krisak scored a power play goal with assists coming from Rachel Macaulay and Kaitlyn Miller.

The Lumberjacks net-minder Stacey Nelson stopped 27 shots in the loss, while Corrina Pierson had 19 saves for Roseville. The Lumberjacks fall to 0-3 on the season and they will face Forest Lake on Thursday in Forest Lake. Roseville improves to 3-0 and they also will face Forest Lake next week, with the Raiders playing the Rangers Tuesday night in Forest Lake.
