Wilderness ride Kaskisuo to 2-1 victory over

The Minnesota Wilderness Wilderness relied on the sparkling performance of Kasimir Kaskisuo in net to grab a 2-1 win against the Aberdeen Wings Saturday night in Aberdeen.Kaskisuo turned away 26 of the 27 shots he faced on the night.

The Wilderness was sparked by Jakob Romo who scored the unassisted game winning goal 40 seconds into the third period to make the score 2-1 in favor of the Wilderness.

The Wilderness put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Aberdeen to score on any of its four power plays. The Wilderness put 37 shots on goal Saturday night which  surpassed the Wilderness’ average of 31 shots per game.

Johno May scored the first goal for the Wilderness, the May power play goal tied the score at 1-1 after Austin Swigle scored to put the Wings in front 1-0. Dominik Tiffels had the assist for the Wilderness on the May goal.

Aberdeen’s Chad Catt  stopped 35 shots out of the 37 that he faced. Minnesota improves to 14-2-3 and has 31 points overall this season. The Wilderness are alone at the top of the Midwest Division standings and are tied with Amarillo with the most points in the NAHL.
