The Proctor Rails advanced to the section 7AAA final Saturday as the Rails knocked off the Two Harbors Agates by a score of 27-12 at Terry Egerdahl Field in Proctor.

In this sectional semi final match-up it was the Agates who got on the scoreboard first when Lucas Kempffer scored on a 6 yard touchdown run to put the Agates up6-0.

The Rails tied the game late in the first quarter when Jack Chalstrom scored on a 1 yard run and a Cody Lewis put the Rails in front 7-6. Both teams battled in a tight defensive battle over the next quarter and a half as neither team found the end zone until the Rails Jake Wick scored on a 10 yard touchdown run midway through the third quarter.

With the Rails leading 13-6 the Agates cut the margin to two points as Kyle Omtvedt scored on a 1 yard run to make it 14-12 in favor of the Rails with 3:35 to play in the fourth quarter.

The Rails responded when Brody Nordquist scored on a 35 yard touchdown run and a extra point again by Lewis gave the Rails 20-12 lead.

The Agates trying to make a comeback came up short when Calen Porter intercepted a Omtvedt pass and returned it 43 yards for a Rail touchdown which sealed the victory for Proctor.

Charlstrom led the Rails with 97 yards rushing on the afternoon and Wick chipped in with 59. Kempffer led the Agates ground attack with 88 yard on the ground.

Proctor improves to 7-2 on the season and they will face Esko in the section 7AAA championship Thursday night at Malosky Filed at UMD. The Agates season comes to an end Saturday as they finish the season with a overall record of 6-4.
