The Floodwood Polar Bears remained unbeaten Saturday afternoon as the Polar Bears beat the McGregor Mercuries in a section 5-9 man match-up in Floodwood by a score of 47-28.

The Polar Bears rushed out to a 30-0 halftime lead and never looked back as they knocked off conference rival McGregor by nineteen points.

Floodwood’s Evan Suonvieri scored three of Floodwood’s first four touchdowns as he scored on runs of 15 yards, 54 yards, & 48 yards all in the first half.

Riley Bernsdorf factored in two touchdowns, he had one rushing touchdown of 55 yards and he threw a touchdown pass to Tanner Heggedahl on a 18 yard scoring play.

Willow Christenson scored on a 55 yard touchdown run and Noah Thompson added a 1 yard touchdown run as Floodwood scored all their 47 points before the Mercuries could put any points on the scoreboard.

Auston Anderson had two rushing touchdowns for McGregor, while Jacob Jonas added a 8 yard touchdown run. The Mercuries other touchdown came on a 37 yard interception return for a touchdown by Josh Greene.

Floodwood remains unbeaten with a record of 10-0 and they will face South Ridge on Friday night at Esko for the section 5 9-man championship game.

McGregor end their 2013 season with a record of 5-5 overall.
