Panthers dominate Mariners

CULVER, MN- The South Ridge Panthers ended their regular season beating the Silver Bay Mariners with a score of 48-6. The Panthers increase their record to 7-1.

The Panthers started Senior Quarterback Spencer Otis, who was filling in for the injured Kody Karppinen. Otis stepped up big and completed 7-14, passing for 160 yards and four touchdowns.

Drew Janke scored two of those touchdowns, with 29 and 30 yard receptions. Otis also threw 23 yards to Bill Redding for a touchdown, and added a long 63 yard pass down field to Colton Peterson for a touchdown.

Tyler Hage led all rushers with 82 yards and a touchdown, followed by Lane Maranell with 74 yards and a touchdown. Reid Clark also added a rushing touchdown for the Panthers.

Defensively, Cole Watkins led the team with 7 tackles and a sack. Reid Clark and Dom Lisic each added 5 tackles, followed by Bill Redding with 4 tackles and an interception. The Panthers recorded 3 sacks and 2 interceptions on the night.

The South Ridge Panthers are seeded #2 in Section 5 9-Man and will take on the #7 seed Cromwell Cardinals on Tuesday night at South Ridge in Culver, Mn. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
