Boys Basketball

Cloquet 67 Virginia 55


Chad Calcaterra exploded for 42 points and 13 rebounds in the Lumberjacks
non-conference win at home. Cloquet led 30-25 at half, assisted by Calcaterra’s dominant inside game. He also scored 26 points in the second half alone. Cavan Stackpool led the Blue Devils with 22 points in the loss.

Barnum 56 Aitkin 46


The Barnum Bombers were victorious for the second night in a row as they downed the Aitkin Gobblers at home Tuesday night. The Bombers used a balanced scoring attack to win this non-conference match-up. Taylor Carlson led Barnum with 18. Nick Sundhoilm also had 18 for Aitkin.

Esko 59 Marshall 35

The hosting Eskomos jumped out to a 29-17 halftime lead and continued to open it to their 24-point victory Tuesday night. Jackson Lindquist led the Eskomos, finishing with 17 points on the night. Eric Miklausich was the leading score for the Hilltoppers Tuesday night, finishing with 11 points.

Lakeview Christian Academy 81 Carlton 50

The Lions of Lakeview Christian Academy jumped out early on the Bulldogs, and then cruised to the 31 point win Tuesday night in Duluth. Anders Broman led the Lions with 21 points, while Luke Borchardt added 18 points in the win. Jake Adams had 22 points for the Bulldogs. Carlton falls to 0-4 on the season; the Lions improve to 3-2 overall.

Hermantown 89 Proctor 63


Michael Swartz scored 21 points to lead the Hermantown Hawks to a 26 point Lake Superior Conference win Tuesday night. Hermantown led by nine at halftime and rolled to the big win at home in the second half. Anders Voss led the Rails with 21 points on the night.

Girls Basketball

Barnum 90 Floodwood 63


Katrina Newman had yet another 20+ point game Tuesday, leading the Bombers to a Polar League win in Floodwood. Newman scored 28 points on the night in the win, while Leah Nordvall added 16 in the Bomber will. Alissa Autio led the Polar Bears with 18 points in the loss at Floodwood.

Cloquet 56 Duluth Central 46


The Cloquet Lumberjacks outscored the hosting Trojans 31-19 in the second half to overcome a two point deficit at halftime to win this Lake Superior Conference match-up Tuesday night. Annabel Morrisroe came up big for Cloquet, scoring18 points for the Jacks. Sami Vezina scored 14 to pace the Trojans.

Hermantown 50 Proctor 12


Hermantown jumped out to a 22-4 lead at half time as they would easily win this Lake Superior Conference match-up Tuesday night in Proctor. Mary Neumann led the scoring attack, which featured nine Hawks scorers in the win. Aubrey Knox would lead the Rails with four points on the night.
