The Barnum Bombers improved their regular season record with a 7-0 win over Braham at the Metrodome Monday afternoon. Both teams were able to gain the experience of playing on a major league field by paying a fee to play on Metrodome grounds.

“It was exciting to be able to play where the Twins play,” head coach Randy Myhre told NSO. “The kids had a blast…It was exciting to see the kid’s names on the scoreboard and sit in the dugouts; it was a very memorable experience.” Myhre stated.

The Barnum Bombers had an outstanding pitching performance by Katrina Newman as she threw a one hitter in the Barnum win. She also helped her cause at the plate, going two for four with a grand slam home run. She also scored two runs for the Bombers. Jessica Newman had two hits and scored two runs in the win as well.

Katrina Newman’s softball season ended on Monday due to a knee surgery this Wednesday. Katie Myhre will handle the pitching responsibilities for the rest of the season, and if need be Karianna Duesler will be her back up.

The Bombers improve to 4-0 on the season and will be in action again Wednesday hosting Cook County. Braham falls to a 1-2 record on the season and play again Tuesday at Pierz.
