Scholastica’s Johnson Women’s Athelete of the Week for 2nd Time

NEW ORLEANS (csssaints.com) – For the second consecutive week St. Scholastica’s Chelsea Johnson (North Branch, Minn./Chisago Lakes HS) has been named the Division III Women’s Athlete of the Week by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), it was announced Monday.

Johnson earned National Honors last week after a convincing win at the University of Minnesota Griak Invitational. She earned the honor again with another dominating win this time at the NCAA Division III Pre-Nationals Meet in Hanover, Ind. on Saturday.

Johnson won her fourth race of the season by defeating the rest of the field by 46 seconds. The senior completed the wet 6K course in a program-record time of 21:25.74, well ahead of runner-up Allison Barnwell of No. 5 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and nearly a minute clear of the top runner from team champion No. 9 Trinity (Texas)
