Hounds & Hawks Tie

The Hermantown Hawks and the Duluth East Greyhounds played to a 0-0 tie Wednesday night at Duluth east High School in a non-conference battle. The Hawks that entered the contest with an 11 game unbeaten streak see themselves extending that streak with the overtime tie.

With the regular season coming to an end this week both teams were seeking to play some of their best soccer of the season as these to team battled all night in the wind, cold, and rainy weather.

Roni Rudolph finished with 7 saves for the Greyhounds Wednesday, while the Hermantown Hawks used two goalies on the night with each Delaney Vavra and Allison Samberg stopping 8 shots each on the night.

With the tie on Wednesday the Hawks move to 11-1-2 on the season and the girl’s will be back in action Thursday when they will face the Hilltoppers at Duluth Marshall, and they close out the regular season next Monday when they will take on the Hunters of Duluth Denfeld at Public Schools Stadium.

The Greyhounds record on the season goes to 3-11-1 and the Greyhounds will close out their regular season on Saturday afternoon when they will face Edina at home.
