Kello Brown Named MCAC Player of the Week

Freshman forward Kello Brown of the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College Thunder Men’s Basketball team was named Player of the Week in the Northern Division of the Minnesota College Athletic Conference for his performance in games played November 12 through November 18, 2012.


Brown averaged 24 points per game during the week, making 18 of 34 field goal attempts (53%) for the Thunder. Brown connected on 10 of 18 three-point shot attempts (55%) including 6 of 10 in an 82-77 win over Rainy River Community College at the Vermilion Tournament in Ely on Saturday.


As of November 18, Brown is ranked first among the league leaders in rebounding with a 13.5 rebounds per game average. Brown is also second on the list of league leaders in scoring with his 24.0 points per game average. Brown, a 6′-5″ forward majoring in Liberal Arts at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College, is a freshman who grew up in Minneapolis and attended the Fond du Lac Ojibwe School after moving to Cloquet.


The first home game of the season for the Thunder Men’s Basketball team is Wednesday, November 28, against Gogebic Community College. Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m. in the Lester Jack Briggs Cultural Center on campus. The Thunder are 3-1 for the season to date.


The Minnesota College Athletic Conference is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association. The conference is comprised of 15 colleges which are divided geographically into Northern and Southern Divisions
