The University of Minnesota Duluth volleyball team has signed a pair of prep athletes for 2013 in the early signing period. Middle blocker Allison Olley (St. Catherine’s High School, Racine, Wis.) and libero Teal Tomaszewski (Weyauwega-Fremont High School, Weyauwega, Wis.) have both signed letters of intent and will be joining the Bulldogs on the court next fall.

Olley, a three-sport athlete for St. Catherine’s, compiled 80 blocks this season, leading her club to a 31-13 record in her second season of starting duty for the Angels. A team captain and conference all-academic selection, she earned an all-conference nod and all-state honorable mention selection for her efforts in her final prep campaign. Olley also lent her talents to the St. Catherine’s softball and basketball teams, earning all-conference accolades in those sports as well.

Anchoring the Weyauwega-Fremont defense, Tomaszewski was a catalyst in her team’s run to a 31-10 finish this fall. Tomaszewski surpassed 2,000 digs for her career, earning all-conference accolades in her final two seasons and landing all-state honorable mention acclaim in 2012.

UMD, which rolled up a 27-3 overall record en route to a second consecutive share of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference title, will graduate a pair of senior starters in Samantha Hertaus and Kalli Lochner at the conclusion of this postseason.
