FDLTCC Beats #1 Ranked Ridgewater 20-12

The Thunder Football team traveled to Willmar on Saturday and knocked off previously unbeaten and the #1 ranked team in Minnesota Ridgewater Warriors 20-12.

The Thunder, now 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the MCAC Northern Division, were led by running back James Victor Griffin. Griffin rushed 36 times for 202 yards and two touchdowns. The Thunder defense forced three interceptions and held the Ridgewater quarterback to 8-of-33 passing for only 60 yards.

Thunder defensive back Rial Wells picked off his league-leading fifth interception of the season.

The Thunder will return home to Bromberg Field in Cloquet and host Mesabi Range Community College on October 6 at 3:30pm in their final home game of the season. They will finish out the regular season on the road at Ely on Thursday October 11.
