LSC All-Conference Softball Team Announced

Katie Thun headlines a list of nine players on the All-Conference first team for the Lake Superior Conference in 2012. The junior hurler is joined by two other teammates off the Hermantown Hawks team.

Joining Thun from Hermantown were; JoAnna Carlson
and Macy Francisco. Denfeld also had three players on the team in Kara Warren, Nikki Logergren and pitcher Sarah Hendrickson. Rounding out the first team were Taylor Thompson of Superior, Ashland’s Olivia Bretting and Cloquet’s Kayla Masessa.

Cloquet had three players named to the second team in third baseman Shania Paulson, shortstop Dalyce Gustafson and second baseman Kelly Carlson. Denfeld had two players named all second team in Melissa Jarvi and Haylee Johnson. Pitcher Steph Torgeson and centerfielder Melinda Nelson of Proctor were named to the second team as well as junior Mackenzie Herzig from Hermantown. Superior’s Jessica Lindstrom rounded out the second team.

Honorable mention honors went to; Shawna Johnson of Hermantown, Jenny Asanovich and Briana Mehling of Proctor, Rachel Fregin and Emily Hanson of Superior, Mariah Anderson of Ashland and Gabby Nordman of Duluth Marshall.
