The neighborhood softball rivalry was renewed on Wednesday afternoon in Esko when the Eskomos hosted a strong Carlton Bulldogs team. The Eskomos rode the strong pitching of Abbey Saralampi to a 7-4 victory and bragging rights for the time being.

Saralampi fanned eight in pitching her team to the victory, while also giving up 10-hits to a strong hitting Carlton team. The charge offensively was led by Katyanna Emanuel who had three RBIs for Esko which improved to 10-8 on the season.

Megan Nelson launched a homerun for the Bulldogs.

The game marks the end to a very successful 14-5 campaign on the 2012 season for the Bulldogs, who will now ready themselves for the Section 7A playoffs. Esko has two games remaining with a doubleheader to take place at Esko on Thursday. The Eskomos will take on Hibbing at 4:00pm and Deer River at 5:30pm.
