Colton Godbout is proving he is one of the top pitchers in the Northland this year. The Carlton hurler tossed a perfect game last week and last night slammed the door on previously unbeaten Floodwood by throwing a one-hitter in the Bulldogs 3-1 victory over the Polar Bears.

Not only did Godbout show his stuff on the mound he also starred at the plate by going 2-for-3 and knocking in two runs. The Bulldogs put four hits together, all with two outs in the sixth inning to fight back from a one run deficit and take the lead.

While Godbout was tough for Carlton on the mound the Polar Bears also got a well pitched game from Trevor Bernsdorf, who gave up eight hits and fanned eight in his six innings of work.

Kyle Gunderson added a 2-for-3 effort for the Bulldogs; Erik Adams also added an RBI and Zach Veno had a double for Carlton. At the plate the Polar Bears got their only hit from Bernsdorf.

Carlton has now won 6 of their last 7 games, while the Polar Bears drop to 6-1 overall and 4-1 in the Polar League.
