Hibbing Tennis Too Deep For CEC Boys

Hibbing-Chisholm swept all three doubles matches and nearly swept all the singles matches on Monday when the Blue Streaks boys tennis team derailed Cloquet-Esko-Carlton 6-1 in Cloquet.

The lone CEC victory came at #4 singles by Christian Pritchett who defeated Taylor Pearson 6-3, 6-2. Mike Fontana of H/C defeated CEC’s Sean Kedrowski at #1 singles 6-1, 6-3 and that was followed by a win at #2 by Cole Schafer over John Scheuer and at #3 by Aden Casey who defeated Tanner Webster 6-4, 1-6, 6-4.

In doubles the CEC #1 team of Ryan Willgohs and Robbie Sobczak lost 6-1, 6-1 to Joe Anderson and Adam Johnson. At #2 doubles it was Kevin Kleinknecht and Ben Tomhave of CEC dropping a 6-0, 6-3 match to Scotty Perunuvich and Jake Bestul. The final match of the day saw the CEC duo of Joey Gotchnik and Luke Tomhave lose 4-6, 6-3, and 6-2 to Jake Gelen and Forest McLaughlin.

The Jacks will be back at it on Thursday when they host another Range team in the Virginia Bluedevils
