PROCTOR — Mora’s Jake Lindberg hit a grand slam in the fifth inning to tie the score 4-4 and Mora scored the go-ahead run in the seventh inning on three consecutive errors to win a non-conference baseball game 5-4 over Proctor at Terry Egerdahl Memorial Field on Saturday.

Winning pitcher Zach Anderson threw three shutout innings of no-hit relief of starter Lindberg, who walked six and struck out eight in four innings.

Ben Nelson (2-1, 1.46 ERA) threw a complete game five-hitter for Proctor. He allowed one walk, one intentional walk, one hit batsman, and had three strikeouts.

Mora’s Cody Cottingham scored the go-ahead run as Proctor’s defense faltered in the top of the seventh inning. Proctor committed six errors in all.

Greg Chmiel doubled to lead off the fifth inning, which was the first extra-base hit allowed by the Rails this season. Cottingham then singled, and Derek Graves reached on an error to set up Lindberg’s blast.

Lindberg walked the first three batters in the bottom of the first inning that resulted in Proctor taking a 3-0 lead. Cody Dolsen hit into a fielder’s choice that scored Jimmy Merling on a subsequent throwing error, Nelson delivered an RBI single scoring Ryan McCarthy, and Dolsen scored from third base on a throwing error when courtesy runner Joe Carter stole second base.

Proctor added a run for a 4-0 lead in the second inning when Merling walked, stole second base, advanced to third on a passed ball, and scored on an RBI single by McCarthy.

Proctor was limited to three hits.
