The post season baseball awards for Esko’s Matt Tengesdal just seem to keep coming. Tengesdal was recently named to both the Minnesota State High School Baseball Coaches Association AA Academic All-State and AA All-State team.

Tengesdal, a senior pitcher and outfielder, helped the Eskomos to a 13-11 record and a final-four appearance this year. He led the Eskomos with a 2.23 earned run average, finishing with a 5-3 overall record, while striking out 48 batters this season. Offensively, he also led the Eskomos with a .493 batting average and 28 RBI’s. Previously, Tengesdal was named first team all-conference and to the Northland Sports Online and Duluth News Tribune all-area teams
and the Arrowhead All-Star game.

Tengesdal follows a rich tradition at Esko. This is the third year in a row that the Eskomos have had an Academic All-State selection (Rob Johnson ’07 and Dylan Anderson ’08) and the second All-State selection in the last three years (Kyle Hall ’07).
