Lady Bulldogs Smack Out 15 Hits In 12-4 Win

Megan Bodin was strong on the mound and the entire Bulldog line up was strong at the plate as the Carlton girls softball team picked up a thunderous 12-4 win over Cook County on Thursday afternoon at Chub Lake Park in Carlton.


Bodin fanned five, walked only one and gave up only one earned run in the game. The Vikings managed all four of their runs in the fourth inning, but other than that inning the Bulldogs backed up Bodin with strong defense.


At the plate Megan Nelson pumped out two hits including a double and three RBI’s, but she was not the only hitting star. Bodin contributed two hits including a key two out double that scored two runs in the sixth inning. Brooke Camps bashed out two hits including a double, triple and an RBI, Alanna Groth had two hits, one of which was a triple.

Also aiding the Bulldogs cause were; Grace Macor with two hits, a double, a run scored and two RBI’s. Clarissa Nelson added two hits with a run scored and Hannah Benson scored a run and had two RBI’s and Miranda Papesh smacked out two hits and scored a run. All-in-all the Lady Bulldogs smacked out a total of 15 hits.


Cecilia Schnobrich led the Vikings with three hits in the game.


After dropping a tough 3-1 game in Silver Bay, the Bulldogs improved to 1-1 on the season. They will be back in action with a quick turn around when they host Hill City on Friday afternoon at Chub Lake Park.
