Trapp’s 15 Points Helps Esko Girls Over Hermantown

Esko relied on the solid inside play of Savannah Trapp to pull out a 46-36 victory on the road in Hermantown. Trapp finished with a 15 point, nine rebound, and three block night in leading the Eskomos to the win.

The Eskomos scooted out to a 24-13 halftime lead, but the Hawks improved on both ends of the floor in the second half and outscored Esko 23-22 in the second stanza, but it was not enough to overcome the early deficit.

Megan Reuer recorded nine points for Esko of which seven of those points came from the free throw line. Also scoring for Esko were Kallyn Knutson, Marisa Shady and Brooke Schramm who all had nine points, while both Bailey Mudek and Steph Bandelin added two points each.

Hermantown was led by the 10 points of Carmen Bergstedt. Rachel Hoium added eight points for the Hawks, it was five points for Kessiah Mosier, Caitlin Windus finished with four points, Emily Neumann recorded three points, Nicole Kucza, Katie Thun and Melissa Madison all had two points.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Esko which is ranked #5 in the state and is 13-1 on the season, while the Hawks fall to 12-5 overall.
