Wins have been tough to come by for the improving but young Proctor-Hermantown Mirage girls hockey team this season. On Thursday night the Mirage finished with a two-goal third period and came away with a 3-1 win in Hermantown over Hibbing-Chisholm.

Jillayne Gilbert gave the Mirage a 1-0 lead at 3:53 of the first period with Justina Lindberg adding the assist for P-H.

The Blue Jackets bounced back in the second period when Erin Scovill scratched out a power play goal at 11:36 tying the game at 1-1.

The game was decided in the third period when Reilly Fawcett scored with Melinda Johnson and Hanna Johnson assisting to make it 2-1 at the 4:58 mark. Lindberg put the frosting on the cake for the Mirage with a goal at 16:34 to make it 3-1 and to tuck the game away for the P-H.

Dory Johnson finished with 18 saves on 21 shots for the Blue Jackets, while P-H goalie, Kylie Hommerding finished with 18 saves on 19 shots.

The Mirage will be back in action on Monday when they host the CEC Lumberjacks at Hermantown Arena.
