Clydesdales Hunter Scott named Player Of The Week

The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Tuesday that Duluth Clydesdales forward Hunter Scott has been named the latest Pizza Hut player of the week award recipient. This edition of the weekly accolades also includes the final two SIJHL games of 2011, which were contested on Dec. 28 and 30.

In three games during this time period the 19-year-old Scott, who hails from Eau Claire, Wis., racked up 11 points helping Duluth register a pair of wins.

He began with a career-high, six-point performance Dec. 30 pacing the Clydesdales to a convincing 12-4 triumph over Iron Range by scoring two goals while setting up four others.

Scott then added an assist in a road setback at Dryden on Jan. 5 and followed that up by tallying twice, including scoring the game-winner, and dishing out a pair of helpers in 6-4 victory over Sioux Lookout on Sunday.

To recognize his on-ice efforts, Scott will be presented with a gift card courtesy of Pizza Hut.

Honorable mention for the Pizza Hut player of the week award went to Byron Katapaytuk, (F) Fort Frances Lakers; Tanner Milliron, (G) Wisconsin Wilderness; Tyson Holder, (F) Dryden Ice Dogs; Carter McEachern, (G) Thunder Bay North Stars; Anthony Wolfe, (F) Sioux Lookout Flyers and Shamus O’Neill (F) Iron Range Iron Heads.

At the conclusion of the 2011-12 regular season the top performer in the SIJHL will be presented with the Pizza Hut player of the year award.
