Esko Boys Even Record At 1-1 With Win Over Silver Bay

Esko opened the season with a one-point heartbreaking loss to Hermantown early this week. Friday night the Eskomos shook it off quite well and romped to an 86-30 win over Silver Bay; led by a 25-point effort by Jackson Lindquist and an 18-point night by Marc Peterson.

The Eskomos stormed out to a 50-18 halftime lead and outscored the Mariners 36-12 in the second half.

The bulk of the Eskomo offense came from long range as they hit 15 3-point field goals in the game. Esko went 9-for-19 in the first half from the 3-point line and then were 6-for-12 in the second half. Lindquist was 5-for-10 from outside the 3-point line and Peterson was 4-for-5 from that distance.

Jared Harms also had a nice night for the Eskomos with 11 points and Kory Deadrick added nine points. Reed Bakken added seven for Esko, both Bobby Wright and Nate Johnson added three points; it was two points for Ben Hanson and Elijah Mattinen.


Kory Deadrick and Harms led the rebounding efforts for the Eskomos with five rebounds each. Luke Thun led the Mariners efforts with 19 points.


The Eskomos will be back home on Tuesday when they host the Marshall Hilltoppers.
