Barnum Edges Hibbing

The Barnum Bombers squared off with the Hibbing Bluejackets on Friday night, narrowly escaping with the 55-52 victory.

The Bombers led 29-22 when the halftime horn sounded. In the second half, the Bluejackets would make a run of their own, outscoring the Bombers 30-26, but it wouldn’t be enough as the Bombers would hold onto the three point victory.

The Bombers used a balanced scoring attack in the win. Reece Parks scored a team high 17 points, followed by Daniel Gilchrist with 14 points and Samuel Goodwin with 11 points. Also scoring was Tyler Nynas and Kyle Kielty each with 5 and Nolan Wickstrom with 3.

In the loss for the Bluejackets, Travis Carruth scored 25 points and Luke Lundell added 19 points. Also scoring was Corey Nelson with 4 points and Phile Rebrovich and Sadiq Mohamed each with 2.

With the win, the Bombers improve to 12-12 on the season and will look to build on their 4 game winning streak when they travel to play the Braham Bombers on February 28th. The Bluejackets fall to 9-15 on the season.
