IRA Sprints Removed from Amsoil Speedway Schedule for July 29th

In a joint decision this past week, the management group of the Amsoil Speedway in Superior and the ownership of the IRA Sprint Car Association regret to announce that the previously scheduled July 29th visit by the IRA Sprints to Superior has been cancelled.

IRA President Steve Sinclair stated ‘Southern WI & Northern IL have been hit with terrible storms in recent days/weeks, in fact much of Northern IL is without power as we speak. Many of my teams are self employed and have been unable to open their businesses because of the loss of power and have asked me to stay away from any weekdays if at all possible.

As much as we like racing at Superior, we know we have the traditional Sept date and will certainly honor that date, however because we have that one I was asked to just race us on Saturday of that weekend so these businesses and employees wouldn’t lose another day’s pay.’

With the removal of the IRA Sprints from the schedule that night, all regular classes will be in action including the WISSOTA Late Models, Modifieds, Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds and Superior Pure Stocks.Draw cut off is 6:15pm with hot laps taking place at 6:30pm and racing starting at 7:00pm.

The IRA Sprint Cars will visit the Amsoil Speedway on Friday, September 9th as part of the annual Northern Nationals.
