A strong run by the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton boys tennis team came to a screeching halt on Tuesday when the Jacks fell 7-0 to top seeded Duluth East in the Section 7AA tennis tournament.

CEC’s best chance for a win came at #2 singles when Dylan Burslie lost 6-4, 7-5. Colton Roy lost at #1 singles, Jordan Johnson dropped a decision at #3 and it was a tight loss for Zach Zezulka in #4 singles.

In doubles, the Jacks #2 team of Sean Kedroski and Jake Sorenson dropped a 6-2, 6-3 decision to Jake Dacatur and Nels Torgrimson.

The shutout loss was especially tough because the Jacks have had a strong season and seemed to have made a turnaround for the program.
