LSC Softball All-Conference Team Announced

The Lake Superior Conference announced their All-Conference selections on Wednesday afternoon. Both Hermantown and Duluth Central had three players named to the first team while the Cloquet Lumberjacks had a pair of players named to the first team and three second team selections.

A pair of dynamic juniors from Cloquet helped lead the first team. Dalyce Gustafson a powerful and steady shortstop and Lizz Jezierski a strong hitting catcher with a dynamite arm led the Cloquet contingent on the first team. Leading Hermantown was fireballing pitcher Katie Thun, first baseman Sarah Stansfield and the quick Celine Francisco. The trio from Duluth Central includes; star pitcher Sarah Hendrickson, power-hitting Nikki Logergren and fleet-footed outfielder Molly Jazdewski. Rounding out the first team was Barb Malyuk of Ashland.

Three more juniors from Cloquet dominated the second team including; Kayla Masessa a speedy centerfielder, strong third baseman Shania Paulson and Alyssa Michaelson at first base. Cassy O’Neil of Superior also made the second team along with Central’s third baseman Kayla Dammann and catcher Kara Warren. Aubrey Knox and Kaylyn Mottonen of Proctor both were named second team as was Kerri Kontney of Ashland.

Honorable Mention players were; Macy Francisco of Hermantown, Jenny Asanovich of Proctor, Superior’s Emily Hansen, Taylor Thompson and Jessica Lindstrom and Olivia Bretting of Ashland.
