A lackluster three minutes against the defending North American Hockey League champions cost the Jets dearly. The Minnesota Wilderness scored three times in a span of 2 minutes, 55 seconds on the way to a 4-3 victory at the Janesville Ice Arena.

The Wilderness held off a late Jets rally to win on Friday night, 4-3 in Janesville. The came was tight early, with neither team able to score in the opening period. The Wilderness then took control with three goals in the 2nd period from Tyler Cline, Jack Forbort and Mitch Slattery.

Nils Rygaard had the lone Jets goal in the 2nd period. The Wilderness lead swelled to 4-1 as Kobe Roth scored midway through the 3rd period. The Jets attempted a comeback with two late 3rd period goals from Martin Sundberg and Adam Winborg, but it wasn’t enough. Wilderness goalie Chase Munroe made 32 saves in the win.

Martin Sundberg of the Janesville Jets went to the box for a major charging penalty and game misconduct in the first period, and Aaron Miller of the Minnesota Wilderness scored twice in a 1 minute, 45 second window during the ensuing man advantage to spark Minnesota’s 4-0 win at the Janesville Ice Arena on Saturday.

Luke Kania posted his second shutout of the season in just his third start as the Wilderness completed a weekend road sweep of the Jets with a 4-0 shutout win on Saturday. The Wilderness jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st period with back-to-back power play goals less than two minutes apart from Casey Gilling and Aaron Miller.

The lead increased to 4-0 with two more Wilderness goals in the 2nd period from Tyler Cline and Janis Jaks. Kania made 19 saves in the win, while Jack LaFontaine took the loss for the Jets, making 16 save
