Carlton’s Lund Wins 400, 1600 Meters At Eagle Invite

Mat Lund won both the 400 and 1600 meter events for the Carlton Bulldogs during the Eagle invite at East Central on Thursday afternoon. The Bulldogs also won the 4×400 relay.


Lund won the 400 with a time of 56.4 and the 1600 meter run turning in a 5:05.44. The Bulldogs team’s first place honors in the 4×400 came courtesy of a 4:05.06 time.


Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, the event was dominated by the host team East Central, who won the triangular with 97 points. Ogilvie was second with 57, while Carlton finished 3rd with 30 points.


On the girls side, Tori Zime was the lone first place finisher for Carlton by winning the 1600 meter run with a time of 6:07.01. Savannah Schramm jumped 28’ 5” in the triple jump, good for a second place finish.


The Carlton girls also finished in third place with 24.5 total points. The East Central girls joined their boys teammates in the winner’s circle with an event best 74 points. Ogilvie was second with 42 points.
