The Clydesdales last regular season game at the Heritage mirrored how they began: a tough shootout loss to fellow expansion club Wisconsin Wilderness.

Both teams fought to a 0-0 stalemate after the first, Wisconsin edging the home team in shots 9-6. The tight play continued into the second frame, with shots even up at 10 each for the period and the Clydesdales opening the scoring as Luke Burgstahler shot that found its way through Wilderness goaltender Jake Hebda for the lone goal at 13:33.

Shots were 9-6 in the third, with the Wilderness tying it up as James Kline sneaked a rebound past Cody Stocker at 7:59. Duluth puts plenty of pressure on Hebda, registering 5 shots in the overtime minutes compared to Wisconsin’s 2, but both goaltenders stood tall through overtime and into the shootout, each team sending 5 shooters up with Christian Belobaba notching the lone shootout marker for the Wilderness win.

Hebda notched the win with 26 saves as Stocker was the hard luck loser saving 31.

With the win Wisconsin moved to 43-6-5 and 91 points on the season, 22 points clear of the 2nd place Fort Frances Lakers and Duluth falls to 10-40-4.

The Clydesdales round out the season with a pair of games with a possible playoff preview as they play host to the Thunder Bay North Stars Wednesday at the Hermantown Arena and Thursday in Two Harbors.
