The Esko Eskomos boys basketball team lost their third straight game of the season Saturday. The Duluth Central Trojans knocked off the Eskomos at home on a last second three-pointer by C.J. Ham to lift the Trojans to their fourth straight win. The loss was also the second to the Trojans this season as Esko fell a little over two weeks ago at Esko.

Hamm’s shot broke a 55-55 tie in a game in which the Eskomos and Trojans exchanged the lead ten times along with five ties. It came down to the last shot of the game and with time expiring, the senior guard buried the jump shot that sealed the victory for Duluth Central.

Esko fought back from several deficits to take the lead and it was Jackson Lindquist providing a lot of the heroics as he nailed eight three-pointers in the Eskomos loss. Lindquist led all scorers on the night with 26 points, Jake Stainbrook added 19, Marc Peterson finished with 6, Andrew Wendland added 2, and it was Adam Eskuri and Jared Harms both closing out the Eskomos scoring with 1 point on the night.

C. J. Ham, who finished with 19 points, led the Trojans. Derek Meger added 14, Jodeston Robinson added 11, Andrew Laughlin finished with 8, Sam Humes pitched in with 4, and it was Sergei Hanka rounding out the Trojans scoring with 2 points in the Duluth Central win.

The Eskomos fall to 16-5 overall on the season and will be back in action again on Tuesday night when they face the Proctor Rails at home. The Trojans improve to 16-7 and they are also home on Tuesday night as they host the Northwestern Tigers of Maple Wisconsin.
