Esko Squeaks Past Denfeld in 2 OT

Behind Aaron Olson’s 22 points, the Esko Eskomos squeaked by the Duluth Denfeld Hunters on Thursday night, 61-58.

The Hunters held the lead at the half, up 24-22. The Eskomos would answer by outscoring the Hunters 25-23 in the 2nd half to send it into overtime. In the first overtime, the teams matched up with 2 points a piece, but in the second overtime, the Eskomos held the advantage, outscoring the Hunters 12-9 to secure the victory.

Olson led the Eskomos with 22 followed by Jaxson Turner with 13 and Derek Pantsar with 11. Adam Trapp pitched in 9 for the Eskomos, Isaac Blue scored 4, and Nate Johnson topped it off with 2.

In the loss for the Hunters, Jamarr Harkins had a game high 27 points. Following was Spencer Wallner who scored 12, all from behind the arc, Trevor Otteson tallied 11, Sjon Randa pitched in 5, and Marques Jones topped it off with 3.

The Eskomos move to 15-6 on the season and will play Cook County on the road on February 6th. The Hunters fall to 8-14 on the year and look to bounce back when they play at Proctor on February 10th.
