Bulldogs Fly Past Eagles

Tyler Ojibway scored 27 points Monday night to led the Bulldogs to a 82-72 victory over the East Central Eagles in Askov at East Central High School. Ojibway’s 27 led Carlton who had four players score in double figures Monday night.

Carlton jumped out to a fourteen point 41-27 lead at halftime as the Bulldogs as Ojibway scored 17 first half points including 4 three-pointers in the half. Dominic Bennett score nine points in the first half as well to give the Bulldogs a lead at half for the first time in several games.

The second half saw the Bulldogs continue to fly across the floor as their up tempo style kept the Eagles in a chasing mode. Ojibway continued on his scoring binge in the second half kicking in 11 more points to his game high.

Following Ojibway and his 27 points it was Eric Soderstrom who ended with 16, Dominic Bennett chipped in with 14, Adam Ermatinger added 12. Cade Pierson and Jackson Mickle both had 4 points and it was Effern Cruz with 3 and Matt Hey added 2. The lone area where Carlton struggled Monday was from the charity stripe as the went 6 – 15 from the free throw line.

The Eagles were led by Gunnar Fogt and Stephon Buchanon who each scored 21 points while Austin Peterson chipped in with 17 points in the loss for East Central.

Carlton moves to 6-13 overall and they will play host to Cromwell on Friday night at Carlton High School. The Eagles fall to 6-16 and ends East Centrals two game winning streak.
