Denfeld Shuts out Rails

Six different Hunters scored Thursday night as the Hunters bounced back from a loss to Duluth East to shut out the Proctor Rails by a score of 6-0 at the Proctor Arena Thursday night.

Following a scoreless first period, the Hunters scored three goals int he second period to make it 3-0 after two period of play. Kadin Ferguson got the Hunters on the scoreboard when he scored at 9:29 with an even strength goal and a assist coming from Nick Thompson. The Hunters made it 2-0 a little over two minutes later when Cameron McClure at 11:36 of the second period.

Nick Thompson made it 3-0 at 13:07 of the second, again this was a even strength goal and the assist was Ben Kidd. Jake DeCaro made it 4-0 when he scored an unassisted goal at 9:53 of the third period to make it 4-0 in favor of Denfeld. Adam Shykes scored the Hunters 5th goal of the contest at 13:51 of the third period.

Cody Budisalovich and Jake DeCaro assisted on the Shykes goal, and it was Budisalovich scoring the Hunter’s final goal of the night with DeCaro again assisting on the goal and Shykes also adding an assist.

River Alander stopped all 12 shots he faced for the win Thursday night, Tanner Haedrich stopped 33 of 39 shots he faced in the loss for the Proctor Rails.

Denfeld moves to 10-5 overall on the season and they will face Hibbing-Chisholm next Tuesday at the Heritage Sports Center in West Duluth, the Rails fall to 6-9 on the season anf the host Legacy Christian on Saturday afternoon at the Proctor Ice Arena.
